American Hakko Products Debuts the FX-310 Wave Soldering Pot, Setting a New Standard for Precision and Process Control

VALENCIA, Calif. — August 2026 — American Hakko Products, Inc., a leader in high-quality soldering and desoldering solutions, announces the release of the new HAKKO FX-310 Wave Soldering Pot, an advanced wave soldering system engineered to deliver greater flexibility, improved process control and enhanced reliability for electronics manufacturing, research laboratories, prototype development and production environments.

 

Replacing the long-standing HAKKO 485 Soldering System, the FX-310 represents a complete redesign that incorporates modern manufacturing requirements and user feedback into an innovative platform built for today’s increasingly complex electronic assemblies. Rather than simply updating its predecessor, the FX-310 introduces significant mechanical and operational improvements that expand application capabilities while simplifying operation and maintenance.

 

One of the most significant enhancements is the system’s new two-piece architecture. By separating the control module from the main solder pot, the FX-310 features a flat-top design that accommodates larger printed circuit boards while providing operators with improved accessibility during soldering operations. The redesigned impeller system also increases solder volume, enabling support for larger wave nozzles and expanding the range of applications that can be processed with a single system.

 

The FX-310 also introduces the new NP01 Series nozzles, which use a convenient bayonet-style connection for faster installation and replacement. Additionally, the new nozzle design allows custom nozzle configurations to be manufactured in complex geometries that were previously difficult or impossible to produce, providing manufacturers with greater flexibility when addressing specialized soldering applications.

Designed to improve solder quality and process consistency, the FX-310 supports operating temperatures up to 380°C and incorporates an enclosed solder pot that helps reduce oxidation during operation. For applications requiring even greater process stability, the system includes a nitrogen input that allows the solder pot to be inerted, helping manufacturers achieve cleaner solder joints and improved process control. The unit also incorporates an integrated leak detection system for added operational safety and equipment protection.

 

Ease of use was another key design objective. The FX-310 features a dedicated digital control unit equipped with a large backlit graphic display and intuitive dial interface that allows operators to quickly adjust temperature, solder flow rate, flow duration and descent speed. Users can store up to five programmable process presets, making it easy to switch between different products while maintaining repeatable process parameters.

 

To help manufacturers maintain process integrity and equipment uptime, the control system includes customizable user lockout functions, runtime monitoring for both the heating elements and impeller system, and an Ethernet port that supports HAKKO Control Software for remote setup, monitoring and system management from a connected PC. These advanced digital capabilities provide manufacturers with greater visibility into system performance while simplifying preventive maintenance and production management.
