Chelsea Jewell to Present on Pre-Immersion Cleaning Chemistries at OCP Global Summit 2026

On Wednesday, October 14 at 2:15 pm PST, Jewell will present “Before the Fluid: How Pre-Immersion Cleaning Chemistry Shapes Long-Term Electronic Reliability” in Room 220C on the concourse level.
During the presentation, Jewell will emphasize that the cleaning chemistry used and the degree from which it was removed from a board prior to immersion consequentially impacts reliability variables in the deployment chain.
Supporting evidence throughout the presentation will include leakage current measurement findings showing that pre-cleaning chemistry type, residue load, and rinsing effectiveness are detectable as electrical degradation signatures in immersion environments.
Jewell will further explain that boards with nominally equivalent fluid exposure and component populations showed divergent EID trajectories attributable to upstream cleaning process differences. Additionally, she’ll show that the implications of board reliability extend to procurement, inbound inspection, and fluid qualification protocols, suggesting that cleaning for immersion is a distinct process requirement.
